Reliable Japanese food! Great service, nice menu, I've been eating here for over a decade.

So good ... steak hibachi, sushi, hand rolls, salad, hot sake.. we always enjoy ourselves unless it's super crowded inside

Freshest sushi around Carmel no doubt, never had an issue and takeout is very fast. I've tried many sushi places in the general area and I keep coming to this one!

1st time here - typical interior. Friendly staff - called in a to go order. Theu said 15 minutes and were right on point- Got the lunch Bento Box. Chicken Katsu. Came with little dumplings, rice, and California rolls. Lots of Wasabi and ginger (huge plus for me!). Everything was delicious! I will certainly be back although there was so much food next time I will split with someone. A bargain @ $13.50... Lost a star for the Miso soup - tasted like dish soap and I dumped it. Other than that, a pleasurable experience and I will definitely be back!

We stopped here randomly on a late Sunday afternoon. They weren't busy and we were seated immediately. The woman working was friendly and our food came out very quickly. I've had my fair share of Japanese cuisine and I thought the food here was fantastic! The gyoza were incredible. They were perfectly pan fried and juicy on the inside. The sauce that it came with was so good, it's like nothing I've ever had before, but I wanted to bottle it up and take it with me. My sushi was beautifully plated and so tasty. The fried rice was also very good. I got it plain but it still had so much flavor. Everything was reasonably priced which is always a plus! If you're looking for a good Japanese spot in Carmel, this is it.

I came here for a quick lunch with my friends and it was a great experience. The service was quick and the staff were very polite and patient. I ordered the pork gyoza and spicy yellowtail hand rolls as starters, they were absolutely delicious! The gyoza was the perfect texture and not too oily. The sushi was made to perfection as well as the steak fried rice. Nothing was oily or salty it was a pleasant experience. They definitely have a recurring customer with me!

The restaurant is in a large plaza with plenty parking spaces. The interior was a bit dark but was clean. The waitress was friendly and gave us time to order without being pushy. To start, the miso soup was flavorful and not too salty. The salad that came with the ramen was very good as well; the lettuce was crisp and the miso dressing was tasty. The ramen however was disappointing. The broth was lacking in flavor and the dish was overall bland. The sushi on the other hand was delicious. The avocado was extremely fresh and firm, you can tell they used freshly bought avocados. The unagi roll was lathered in a delicious BBQ sauce and was very fresh as well. Judging from the reviews on this place, Izumi seems like they can be inconsistent. I have only tried this place once so my experience is limited. I would absolutely come back here for the sushi but the kitchen food was less than satisfactory.

Ordered takeout, which included steamed Gyoza dumplings, miso soup, California rolls, an Amazing roll and an Ichiban roll. Placed the order online through Yelp, which was flawless. The order was ready in the time promised, and contained no significant errors upon pickup, and they were very accommodating to our special request of no sesame seeds as one in our group had a seed allergy. No sesame seeds were present. Staff were friendly and courteous. Overall the food was very good. The miso soup was not the best I've had, but was still delicious. My only "issue" was that the Amazing and Ichiban rolls (both spicy rolls) were over-sauced (in my opinion). Typically the spicy mayo is lightly applied to the top of the rolls, but in this case they were drenched in it. I was able to easily remove some, so no issues and the rolls were otherwise delicious. I would still go back, because the service was excellent and overall the food was delicious.

We stopped by for lunch, there is a nice room in the back for hibachi seating. The staff let us know, they were only open for take out. We remembered this place, for take out. We ordered and got a lot of food. The portions were decent and they have plenty of sauce. The food was delicious.. all of it. We enjoyed the gyozas, chicken and steak hibachi plates. Will absolutely need to try this place again for more on the menu.
